Hastings - Guilin sister city link - the Wedding of The Year

Hastings' sister city link with Guilin, China received major international exposure, when on 20th September 2008, Chen Yanyan (Caroline) and Gan Dan (Daniel), from the Longsheng District of Guilin, were married in the city's Osmanthus Garden. 

The wedding was filmed by Beijing's China Travel Channel for broadcast across China, and also for TVNZ's Asia Downunder programme, screening Sunday 5th October at 8.30am.

The garden wedding was followed by a service at historic St Matthews Church, and a reception with entertainment at historic Ormlie Lodge.
